    In both levels of Apprenticeship, you will study a mix of theory (knowledge) and practical (competency) topics, examples are provided below. You will follow the pathway and units that are most closely connected to your work. You may also complete appropriate NPTC machinery qualifications, such as tractor driving. Pathways available in: - Mixed farming - Livestock - Crop production. Level 2 topics will include: - Health and safety, Preparing sites ready for planting crops, Maintaining the healthy growth of crops, Establishing and maintaining animal welfare conditions, Maintaining site bio-security and personal hygiene, Preparing feed and water supplies for livestock, and; Monitoring and maintaining the supply of feed and water to livestock.     Over the past few years, the number of people who experience allergic reactions has been steadily rising. Today, there are an estimated two million people in the UK living with an allergy. The objective of this nationally recognised qualification is to introduce learners working with children, working in adult health and social care, or working in the service sector, to allergens, allergies, food labelling, and allergy awareness. The course includes information on the symptoms of allergic reactions, the treatments available for allergic reactions, and first aid for those experiencing a severe allergic reaction. The course is suitable for a wide range of learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of allergies. It may be useful as an introduction for those who wish to pursue a career in working with people who have allergies, or those preparing for a wide range of job roles in diverse sectors which require them to have an awareness of allergies as part of their responsibilities. This course is split into three manageable units. The learner will complete two mandatory units then select a third from the choices available, as shown below. Unit 1: Allergens, allergies and intolerances (Mandatory) Unit 2: Food labelling and packaging (Mandatory) Unit 3: Allergy awareness for those working with children (Optional) Unit 4: Allergy awareness for those working in adult health and social care (Optional) Unit 5: Allergy awareness for those working in the service sector Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study.
