    This is a full time, day release programme that runs for 12-15 months, with college attendance being required ONCE a week. The apprenticeship consists of both mandatory and optional units to be completed. There will be a total of 12 mandatory units, with the optional units collectively gaining a minimum of 8 further credits. All units must be achieved in order to qualify for the full certificate.     Weld Inspection

    All Metal Fabrication companies that have or require EN 1090-1 as part of the CE Marking Process will have a need to ensure that their Welding Staff have some form of formal Weld Inspection experience provided by a competent person. This 1 day training course has been specifically designed to meet this requirement. All equipment and tools required to complete the Welding Inspection training course shall be supplied with an opportunity to purchase at a reduced cost price on the day. A Certificate of Training to ISO BS 17637:2011 shall be issued on completion of the training course. Scope of the Weld Inspection to BS EN ISO 17637:2011 (EN-1090-1) training includes the following:- • Welding Inspection Terminology • Weld Inspection Standards (BS, ISO etc.) • Visual Inspection Process and Techniques • Weld Imperfections and Defects

    Welding

    Metal inert gas welding, or MIG welding, is the most widely used of the arc welding processes. It is suitable for everything from hobbies and small fabrications or repairs, through to large structures, shipbuilding and robotic welding. MIG can be used on a broad range of materials and thicknesses, and the latest SuperPulse technology enables MIG to give a finish that is similar to that obtained with TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding, yet with the speed for which MIG is renowned.
