Consulting Business Meets Leadership Demands By Upskilling

Westley Consulting, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, is a team of business consultants and construction project managers for the food and rural sectors. The company has established a construction management service in recent years, which has opened up new opportunities, but has also created additional demands on leadership.

Upon learning about the availability of the Skills Hub Training Grants via an email circular, Westley Consulting decided to apply for funding so that they could upskill to meet the new demand, thereby continuing to grow their business. Their application was approved, and the resulting Training Grant was used to fund leadership training for Alastair Beacon, the managing director of Westley Consulting.

The training covered a range of useful topics – including presentation skills, reputation and brand, social media, goal setting, and stress prevention – and has significantly helped in the ongoing development of Alastair’s skills and knowledge.

When asked whether Westley Consulting would recommend interacting with the Skills Hub and applying for a Training Grant, Alastair told us “Yes, absolutely!”
